Lesser-known MacBook Features
Surprisingly, not many MacBook owners are aware that:
- Apple MacBook can be charged from any available USB-C port with a standard cable. Works for >2016 Pro and >2018 Air laptops.
- The brightness of the Retina screen can be increased from 500 to 1600 nits. It is possible with apps such as Lunar (I recommend it) or Vivid. It’s also a must-have tool for brightness synchronization between multiple displays.
- MacOS has a built-in caffeinate command which prevents the system from going into sleep mode. This can be useful when downloading or compiling and the laptop is not connected to a power supply.
