Aventine Keyhole
The Aventine Keyhole is a keyhole, an aperture in a door through which you can peek and see an unobstructed view of St Peterβs Dome, perfectly framed by the round edges of the keyhole itself and beautifully manicured hedges of a secret garden.
Three countries can be seen throught the keyhole: the embassy of Knights of Malta (right behind the door), Italy on the outside, and the Vatican City centered on St. Peter’s Dome in the distance.
