History
Buslaev’s Psalter is a handwritten manuscript created in the last quarter of the 15th century. It was named after it’s main researcher, Fedor Buslaev (1818—1898), Russian philologist, art historian, and folklorist. Buslaev concluded that the Psalter was written by five anonymous scribes. It particularly stands out with the variety of peculiar glyphs which have signs of being influenced by Uighur, Arabic, Coptic, Greek and Armenian scripts.
Awed with the mysteries of the manuscript, I started the project of Buslaev Script, which evolved into a font with support of TypeThursday Los Angeles, who provided their ideas and feedback.
